Movie: A Crude Awakening 2007/11/17 13:58
Hello out there,

a movie from the scale of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" is about to hit the cinemas - "A Crude Awakening". It depicts our non-replaceable dependence on oil - and shows how little of this resource is left. Together with global warming the increasing lack of this resource is said to fuel global crisis and wars.
Have a look at the trailer: www.oilcrashmovie.com

Probably everyone who is reading this post will still be alive when these effects set in. So what will we do when this becomes real? We won't be able to travel as freely as we used to, everything will become more expensive, if not unavailable. We might have get used to the idea of becoming self-sufficient again - back to the roots. Might be a good idea to get the "How to create a veggie patch" handbook out of the shelf and start vegetating a piece of land.

This scenario is right in front of our doorsteps. But we have a choice here: we can stay ignorant and hit the wall at full speed or start changing behavior, start learning about what we can do and get our heads together to face these coming changes. We've got the choice to survive.

All the best,

Andreas

PS. for an indication of where we are heading again: these people are living it in the desert of Texas - and they love it! www.velacreations.com very inspirational!

Hello Andreas!
I also think it is very important to become aware of this point: develop alternative energy resources and above all alternative lifestyle! living in the desert of Texas off what the nature offers is really so inspiring ...it is a bit like going back in time, when our grandparents, parents (and maybe ourselves) were used to live in the country in self-sustainability, ploughing the land and breeding animals, in a full union with nature. But even if we don't have this chance, there are still some everyday's behaviours that can counter the effects of ecological disasters such as using a textile shopping bag or a backpack (as suggested in the Being One in November newsletter!) at the place of plastic bags, which are polluting (made out of oil) and not biodegradable.
I hope awareness will wake us up and make us choose to survive! Thank you!

All the best,

Stefania
